To celebrate World Choral Day, today’s Video of the Day is a performance of Kerensa Briggs’s ‘A Tender Shoot’ by VOCES8. The recording is a part of LIVE from London Christmas Festival which launces on 9 December. It was filmed live by VOCES8 at The VOCES8 Centre (St Anne and St Agnus Church, London) and is a preview from LIVE From London Christmas concert ‘O Magnum Mysterium’ – this concert is released on 19 December and also features treble Malakai Bayoh.

VOCES8’s Christmas sequence takes its title from Morten Lauridsen’s most renowned work, O Magnum Mysterium, which features alongside other treasured pieces such as John Tavener’s The Lamb, Will Todd’s My Lord Has Come, and the Corpus Christi Carol. It will also include premieres of new works by Christopher Moore (VOCES8 baritone), Paul Smith and Francis Pott.
